Copyright Information

The Fair Use law allows the reproduction of copyrighted material, such as the news articles on this site, for educational purposes. I have attributed all references correctly and as completely as possible to the original author and publisher. If there are any problems or corrections, please contact me at

I have borrowed from many resources, but unless otherwise specified, the material here is my own original writings. The middle picture on the Index page, most of the photographs in the Pictures and Profiles, and everything on my personal site are all original and copyrighted by me. If you wish to copy, save, or reprint anything, you must ask for permission. Do not plagiarize my writings or steal my images. I prefer people to link to the site rather than reprinting material on other web sites, message boards, lists or blogs.

If you are seeking to use any of this information in a sociology project, speech, presentation, subculture essay, research paper or other educational purpose, you may have permission to use the material if you follow these four guidelines:

  1. Email and tell me a little about your project.
  2. Do not copy anything word for word unless it is quoted and referenced.
  3. You must include the URL of the site www.gothicsubculture.com somewhere in the paper or presentation.
  4. When it is done, send a finished copy to me at
Regretfully, I am unable to personally assist individuals with research or thesis papers. Unfortunately, I do not have enough time to do interviews or answer questions for individual projects; there are too many. I suggest you post your inquiry to the Message Board to look for Goths willing to participate in your project. Good luck!

I do offer consultation services to groups at a negotiable rate. This could include providing presentations or question and answer sessions. Please email me at to describe your group, its goals and its needs. I do not claim to be a Goth expert, only a knowledgeable insider. I have been observing, writing, speaking and collecting data on gothic culture since 1997. More credentials may be provided and details discussed for serious inquiries only.

If you are a member of the media seeking a quote or interview, be aware that my ability to respond to such requests is limited. Please contact me at with a description of your piece and the time deadline of when you would need a response from me. If I have the necessary time and interest to assist you, I will be in touch before your deadline.

Thanks!
